We love that Breezy allows external recruiters to track candidates through the hiring process via the recruiter portal. However, we've run into a challenge with how stage names are displayed externally.
Current Challenge:
Internally, we use hiring stage names not just for process tracking, but as teaching cues for our hiring managers (e.g., a stage labeled “Intro to [Hiring Manager] (Auto)” indicates an automated invite is triggered). This helps our team stay aligned on process expectations, but that same instructional language is visible to external recruiters in the portal, which creates confusion and unintentionally exposes internal workflow details.
We’ve explored the “Only visible to hiring managers” setting, but that hides the entire stage from recruiters — in this case, we do want recruiters to see candidate stage movement, just not the internal instructional details in the stage name.
Feature Request:
We’d love to see the ability to:
✔ Assign separate internal and external stage names, or
✔ Control what stage names appear to external recruiters, without hiding the stage entirely
Why This Matters:
Keeps the recruiter experience clean and professional
Protects internal workflow details
Allows hiring managers to continue using stage names as process guidance
Preserves transparency for recruiters on candidate progress
Happy to provide additional examples or use cases if helpful — thanks for considering!
